Here are the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.  If you can’t find what you are looking for, just drop me a note.

1-2-1 Online Coaching

Is it possible to get a personal training plan without the nutrition programme or vice versa?

Unfortunately not – I believe these go hand in hand and it is unlikely you will reach your goal by just doing one or the other.  Both parts of the programme link together so if we are working together towards your goal, we need to address both areas.

Is the app your programme uses free to use?

Yes and it is available on the App store for both iPhone and Android.

Do you or can you make updates to the programme as we go?

The 3 month programme is delivered to you in one go.  That said, should you require small adjustments during the 12 weeks for example if you are not getting on with certain exercises, we can look to update this.  Depending on goals and the strategy we decide on, 6 month programmes may be delivered in multiple parts and yes, changes can be made as we go.

How will we track progress?

Whilst scales are one way to track progress, my preferred method is progress pictures, especially for muscle gain as they more accurately reflect change when looking at body recomposition.  I will ask you to track both as we go and upload using the app.

When you say we have ongoing support, how does this work?

I will be available for you on Whatsapp and email for the duration of the programme.  You can send any questions or queries you have and I will answer as soon as possible if it isn’t at an unearthly hour!

Do you work with clients of all ages?

If you are over the age of 18, yes we do.  As long as you are fit and well to train and have been cleared by a doctor to do so.

Is it possible to provide me with full meal plans?

As part of the programme I will provide you with what some example days could look like.  My whole ethos is about empowering you with the knowledge and tools you need to apply them to your life and different situations, as routine isn’t always an option, nor are meal plans.  I will share useful information on things like eating out, getting takeaway, grabbing food on the go etc. which will hopefully prove useful to your own planning.

Will I need to have access to a gym?

For a fat loss programme not necessarily although access to free weights can be extremely beneficial and provides more options.  For clients seeking to build muscle, if you do not have substantial free weights at home, then yes, you will require gym access.

How many times a week will I need to workout?

Whatever works for you.  I suggest a minimum of 3 for fat loss and 4 for muscle build to get best results.  I will also look at your daily activity levels (steps) and any other exercise you do on the side.

What other equipment will I need?

Some kitchen scales can be really useful to help learn how to accurately track your food and a phone that supports the app – that’s it!

I hate running / love my body pump classes – will you include this is in the programme?

Programmes are tailored to you so I am not going to build in something you hate!  We can absolutely work around what you enjoy doing and hobbies / commitments you already have.

As there is no face to face contact, how will I know how to do the exercises you give me?

Your personal training plan will be delivered on the app.  Each exercise will come with clear instructions and many, especially weight bearing ones have video demos.

Will I need to have access to a gym?

You will yes.  All exercises have variations so even if you have a basic gym there should be alternatives.  Some workouts can be done at home or without equipment but for the programme is based on a mixture of these and weight training.

How many times a week will I need to workout?

The calories and macros suggested in this programme already factor in activity levels.  Therefore, it is based on you working out 4-5 times per week and hitting 10K steps on average per day.

What other equipment will I need?

Your personal training plan will be delivered via e-book.  Each exercise will come with clear instructions and photos.

How do I track my nutrition?

I suggest the use of the MyFitnessPal app which is free to use from the App store for both iPhone and Android.  Clear instructions on how you should use this are included in the e-book.

General

Can I drink alcohol on your programmes?

Absolutely!  Obviously in moderation but we aren’t going to ban any food or drink.

What happens if I have a manic job and can’t prep my food?

No worries at all – we work around it.  All my programmes and products are tailored to you specifically to fit your lifestyle.

I am a vegetarian / am a vegan / am gluten intolerant / only eat halal – can your programmes still work for me?

Yep!  All programmes are created bespoke to client’s needs and dietary requirements.  My e-book products are more generalised and cover a variety of dietary requirements.  Please get in touch for any specific enquiries.

I strictly follow a ketogenic diet – can your programmes still work for me?

My approach is all around a balanced approach and a sustainable one for busy people.  With that in mind, restrictive diets are not something that I advocate or would include within a plan.  Macros can of course be geared towards preferences to a point but I operate within what I consider to be sustainable limits and would not look to cut out or severely limit a food group.

Payment

How does payment work?

For 1-2-1 Online Coaching: Once your application has been accepted, you will be sent a PayPal payment link via email.  You can pay via PayPal, debit or credit card and do not need a PayPal account to do so.

For the Lean Lifestyle Guide: Online payment is taken at the time of purchase.  Currently you can pay by debit or credit card.  You will receive a download link to the e-book shortly afterwards.

Can I pay monthly for 1-2-1 Online Coaching?

You can’t at the moment – payments must be paid in full before we start.

Can I put 1-2-1 Online Coaching on hold if I am on holiday?

The way the programmes work is over a continuous 3 or 6 month period.  They are about building healthy habits around your lifestyle so going on holiday shouldn’t stop you from continuing on the programme.  If you do know you are going away, we can work this in no problem and I am on hand to help with any suggestions and give advise.
